100% Social Security Disability

Shafer Disability Law files federal court cases to obtain Social Security disability benefits for disabled individuals.

When can Shafer Disability Law help me?

  • Shafer Disability Law represents individuals who have been denied disability benefits or only partially granted disability benefits.

  • Shafer Disability Law files federal appeals only if both an Administrative Law Judge and the Appeals Council have issued decisions on your disability claim.

  • You only have 60 days to file a federal court case after receiving the Appeals Council's denial.  Please contact the firm ASAP at (773) 234-7820 to discuss your case.

What does Shafer Disability Law charge?

  • You only pay an attorney fee if you win your case.

  • There are two types of attorney fees in federal court disability cases:

1.  An Equal Access to Justice Act (EAJA) fee that the government pays from its own money when a federal court finds you disabled or tells the Social Security Administration to give you a new hearing.

2.  If you are found disabled, the court may also approve an attorney fee of up to 25% of your past-due benefits.  For example, if you are found disabled since 2021, and are due $100,000 in past-due benefits, then the court could award an attorney fee of up to $25,000.  However, in such circumstances, Shafer Disability Law would refund to you the EAJA fee, which would reduce the amount you owe as an attorney fee to less than 25% of your past-due benefits.
